"They" do read this stuff.
However I think the VE's and VOSA employees that are part of this forum are those that, like the majority of NT's on here, are genuinely interested in what they do.
I have found that most VE's are good at their job and work very hard for what is not a massive salary, they are people too. Just trying to earn a crust and make a difference like the rest of us.
Never forget that one day, by testing someones vehicle, you will save a life. and that as far as I can see is what the MOT is about.

Quote from an Older Person, (Not Me) Lol.
"To make an Error Once", "Is A Learning Experience" "Boy"!
To Repeat The Same Error is, Totally Unacceptable!
And There the story goes.
"They," " VOSA" Are Not Allowed to Drive "Vehicles" With Serious Defects, So tend to introduce smaller items into, "Their Incogneto Visits".
Latest is "Random Spot Checks"
So, Carry On as normal, If that seal is missing, or the seatbelt retaining bolt Has been loosened or there is a crack in the windscreen, outside all prescribed areas! Then I`m pretty sure You, Will Have Noticed. The Main Check on Randoms, Is "Headlamp Aim"! Such "Cussy Funts"

just do what you do keep it right plenty of advisories if required..my only beef is with the way our local ve conducts himself.."he's god end off"..well thats his opinon of himself..i have always tried to be 100%..lets face it to err is human just a pity anyone could do 100 great mot's and make a mistake on one...old ve would recognise this and boot yer ass! end of story, lesson learnt..new guy is building a crucifix out the front for you ..laughable i know..common sense sadly seems to be in very..very short supply in our local vosa region..as the song goes dont worry..be happy..mistakes only become problems when you don't learn from them so getting an amber or red aint that bad really it gives scope for improvement and if vosa see this improvement.. well reflects good on you....unless your in my local area...YOUR ALL DOOMED ..p.s that was a joke

I've had dealings with VOSA before via my other business and I wish things such as missing fuel cap seals were all that VOSA would produce, I would expect from them something like an illegal brake fitting hidden behind an exhaust heat shield which would require you to squeeze your head between the shocker and spring to spot
Sorry mate I don't trust em.

from what I can make out you do not need a gigantic x ray machine to find the faults, just do what you are supposed to do, and they will be there. people have mentioned, fuel caps seals missing and loose seat belts, while I feel for the guys, it is not too hard to find these, IS IT?
That all I know

Ok I received the latest MOT matters magazine issued by our glorious leaders in Bristol.
Did anyone read the article on the traffic light visits ?
Good !! Then any of you like me (shaking in my boots) ready for our yearly enforcement visit no I didn't think so, so what does it entail ? for us yellow light victims.
I have read previous posts from Volksjm and Daz so this is all I have to go on, therefore I am patiently waiting for the visit from evil one with his loose seat belted no fog lighted contraption on four wheels, I had two new customers in today who left rather shellshocked by the fact I nearly tied them to a chair and held a pair of jump leads to their nether regions unless they told me where they were employed before their car could be MOT'd.
Let it be known I try my utmost to do the perfect MOT but I have visions of this aforementioned vehicle turning up on my doorstep complete with a list of hidden faults that would take a gigantic X ray machine to detect.
To say I am panicking is an understatement. So my questions are :
What car do they use ?
How do they introduce themselves ?
What are the typical faults they create ?
Come on Guys get together and help each other out before some of us lose our livelyhoods.
