And Kerb weights would be handy too.

| Fair point, but what info do you need from them.

Because some stations test a lot of them, we used to do 300 or so a year.

| Oooohhhh yes! Sent a message to the service desk, and the local area office. I wonder if I will get a reply this time..... (Mind you, they are better at replying than they used to be.) Last edited on Mon Sep 1st, 2008 08:05 am by Tony Gingell

Did you phone service desk???, as we are asked to tell them if it is incorrect, for as I have been told on many an occasion "how can we do anything about incorrect info if we do not know it is" Which I suppose is a fair point. If they did away with VSI the tool van would be ,for a £oner a year for charts would be back , although he may tell you we need them anyway.
Charts are not Mandatory, although I`m pretty sure most, If not all testing stations have them including the older vehicles chart.
What would be very useful to Testers, Is for the Chart producers to do some Homework on Jap Import Vehicles? saving us time phoning the particular vehicle specialist?

| I have just done an MOT on a 1990 Mercedes Benz E Class, and the inspection sheet states that I should "Switch the ignition on, ABS lamp illuminates, then goes out after approximately 1-5 seconds" Except that on this car it didn't. Luckly the Autodata chart and the customers hand book was to hand to confirm that the ABS lamp should go out after the engine was started. What is the point of having the ABS warning lamp operation printed on the VT40 if we can not rely on it? (I wonder how may points I would have got , if I had failed the car and it went to appeal.....)
