Seimens have confirmed the same thing has happened to us, when we checked our test log the reg was different but all other details are the same? Can't say for sure what the reg no on the origional VT20 was but when we started to look for the mystery car the duplicat cert. I produced had the same reg as the test log. The helpdesk confirmed DVLA had carried out a number transfer a couple of days after we tested the car and it would seem that this resets the number on the system so it makes the log not tie up???? Computers eh? how did we survive with pen and paper:cool:

I had a similar situation.

A test was done on a vehicle early in the month.  At the end of the month, a test log was produced.  Checking through the log to reconcile invoices with MOT's, I found a registration mark for a vehicle we had seemed to have not tested.

Double checking the date / time / test number & it turned out that the vehicle had been re-registered at local vehicle registration office since our test...

So have you two different numbers on the same test is that what you are saying, sounds like a seimens fault, hope you kept the vt 40. If the VT40 has the number that you saw you are ok, but the VT20 printed a different number I would ring the help desk.

Have any of you guys had this before and how did you resolve it?? We did a test on a car and the VT40 printed with the reg number displayed on the car say for instance M6 MOT (it has had a cherished transfer) but the test log and the VT20 have the car's origional number on them VT69 VTS (REAL NUMBERS CHANGED data protection and all that) no one noticed till I was checking the test register angainst the bills we send out???:?
