all the best mate
Weekends aren't working days for MOT purposes anymore...
"10 working days" are only weekdays, excluding bank holidays.
As I see it, if you vehicle was tested on a Wednesday for example, you have until the end of the Tuesday of the week-after-next to present for its retest.
With the recent 2 bank holiday days back-to-back, this would extend your retest deadline until the end of the Thursday...
With new faults that develop since the initial test, they will only fail if the tester notices them... (this is the problem with partial retests!)
eg You fail on a Tyre, Brake Pads & Wiper Blade, but pass on everything else. Then, just before presenting for retest, your Stop lamps stop working or your dog has chewed through a rear passenger seat belt webbing... Your car should pass the MOT because the new fail items are not tested.
The ABS lamp is a slightly different matter, because any proficient Tester should notice such a glaring fault when driving the vehicle into the MOT test bay...

this is from the bible according to st vosa,
if clearly the vehicle still does not meet the necessary standard weather because the original defect has been inadequately repaired or because another defect is present the vehicle must be failed and a further vt 30 issued (fail form).
hope this helps

| yes your car will fail the retest, although it may have been working correctly at time of original test depending what the car failed on the repairs carried out may have affected the abs system and would have to be checked, ie outer drive shaft boot split when drive shaft is removed this may cause damage to the sensor and cause the light to come on or any repairs at all to the braking system may cause the light to come on. the tester cant ignore it and unfortunately would have to fail it if you submitted the vehicle for re-inspection with this fault and then you would have to submit it for a full test again and probably pay another full test fee. my advise is to get the abs light function working properly before submitting it for retest for your own safety as well.
