Thanks Rebel, I was hoping that would be the case, but its nice to have it confirmed. Apparently Norwich Union are ok with Veg oil conversions, all insurance companies should be really, I can't see that it would make your car faster/more nickable/more dangerous.

Hi Bigtiff,
As long as it's secure and leak free it shouldn't be a problem as far as the MOT is concerned.
Can't comment on the construction and use or insurance situation though!

Does anybody know if two tank veg oil conversions comply with MOT regs? If I were to fit a second fuel tank securely in the boot of my car that was piped to a changeover valve fitted in the engine bay would this fall foul of The MOT? As I undertand it the only checks on the fuel system are that there are no fuel leaks permitted on any part of the system and that the fuel filler cap seal must be in good condition.
As Veg Oil is inherantly safer than either petrol/diesel or LPG would there be any issue with having a second veg oil tank in the boot? Would it need a vent to atmosphere outside of the car, as the fumes from veg oil are negligible?
Thanks
