| Just read the DVLA site more thoroughly and the way I understand it it is the name and postcode of the number plate supplier that has to be displayed, not the supplier of the vehicle. That makes sense now, I'd heard from another party that their MOT failure was because their plates did not display the car supplier details!

| Thanks MOTman and KevG, that answers my question perfectly. My car is older than the requirement, so, no worries.

Hi Neil,
The regulation you refer to has been suspended for thr moment, It applied to all cars regd after 51 plate if I remember correctly. Any older than that no problems.
See posts in the forum for more details

I heard recently that a new MOT rule requires that the postcode of the person/company that supplied the car has to be displayed on the license plates. Without this postcode it is an MOT failure. Is this true? And if so does this still apply for a private sale?
I can find nothing about this on the information page.
