| Lamps incorporating a side repeater are marked either with an 'E' mark in a circle or an 'e' mark in a rectangle above which is a number 5. Some vehicles are fitted with a wraparound lens with no European approval markings. These can be tested by standing approximately 1000mm to the side of the vehicles rear bumper with indicator on. If amber light can be seen coming through the front lens (not a reflection) this is acceptable.

construction & use is different from mot regs & this is what plod uses when you get pulled over for roadside checks etc.
example , mot regs , loose battery is an advisory item.
construction & use , loose battery = possible fine & points .

For the purpose of the mot, the installed height of the indicators doesn't matter.
(It probably comes under construction and use regs but that's another dep't)
Sorry for my previous flippancy - text speak when not necessary is a pet hate of mine - when people can't be bothered to use a full size keyboard correctly, I'm afraid I can't be bothered to reply correctly.

Mayz, you seem to be able to type fine during the day but missed loads of keys once it got dark.
Try turning the light on?

You need side repeaters as of 01/04/1986, or you need to be able to see the front ones from the side ie; wrap around type.

i have replaced original front lights with morette lights on my 205 and these also get rid of the front indicators which i have relocated to the front on the bumper. do i have to have side repeaters to pass the mot? and if so do they need to be at a certain height?
