"Banded Steels" are Not anyting new to the trade, circa 1960`s 1970`s,
They are Not "Alloys" But modified "Steels" cut and widened by Welding/Inserting a Steel Band Into an existing manufacturers Wheel.
However I am sure that Technology of Alignment and Welding processes, Have moved Forward and therefore, possibilities of leakage and out of true/balance Have been resolved.
Just check that they do not foul/touch any part of the vehicle or protrude too far beyond the outer wheel arch of the wings, If they do, Then arch extensions will be required.
Therefore You Will Comply with MOT regs, and Construction and Use regs.
Regards, Wes.

"or stick out further than the wheel arch"
That will probably come under construction and use, or other legalities but is no concern for the MOT test.

| Seems like fitting aftermarket alloys.MOT wise i dont see an issue as long as they dont allow the tyre to foul any part of the car ( check on full lock )..or stick out further than the wheel arch..I looked at the attached web site and they seem to have it all covered but ask if they come with a warranty, also when you get your tyres fitted check the welded joint for any "air leaks"you local tyre technician will do this as part of the fitting process..or at least my lads would..!...
