Hi
here is the previous thread http://www.motester.co.uk/forums/forum3/305.html
I had the same problem, but have now sourced a 2nd mechanical dipping reflector so both sides now dip, not original but close and a tad safer, I also fitted halogen 6v bulbs which make a big difference.

| I have a 1936 Morris 8 tourer fitted with a 'dip and switch' headlight system where the offside headlight lamp goes out and the nearside headlamp reflector is mechanically dipped by means of an electric solonoid when in 'dip' mode. Will this system satisfy the MOT criteria or will I have to convert to a 'conventional' type of dipping system? Incidently, this vehicle has had a continuous MOT using this setup for several years, but as the new owner I need clarification
