thanks rebel, I did query it at the time, the tester said the law had changed, but obviousley not.

just found out tester agrees on this one success !

Your tester is mistaken, ask him to check the manual.
Cars first used before August 1st 1978 need only have one mirror.
So considering it has a central mirror, any others are not required or testable.

My 1959 lefthand drive car has one nearside (lefthand) mirror and one interior mirror, it never has had an offside mirror (righthand) but has failed the MOT is this right?
