Cheers, so either the customer was not listening properly or the garage was lying. I wish I had been there.
BTW, what are classed as "working days" Mon - Fri or Mon - Sat if the garage is open on a Saturday?

No retesting rules have changed in the last week!
If the vehicle leaves the test station, then it can have a partial retest within ten working days. (but half test fee can be charged)

Someone having had a test 14 days ago, failed a headlamp & gator boot, the garage wanted to fit a new headlamp, the customer said I'll get one from scrap yard, and you can fit it, garage said they would charge £70 - £80 to fit it !!!
Customer meanwhile had car checked by friendly mechanic who just said the headlamp needed re securing. He also fixed the boot.
Took back for a full test (after 14 days)
They now failed other headlamp. And told customer
"new rules in the last week, mean that you have to leave it here or return it within 24 hours - 10 day no longer applies"
This must either be the garage is lying or the customer is not listening properly am I correct?
