| if you are really bovverd by normal practise then next year take it to a more respectable part of town mate. Same test procedures apply.

that basically means that the car cannot be tested on the brake rollers , hence the decelerometer test .
it's all normal procedure & nothing to worry about.

| well, digging up on it a bit more, the car is a 4 wheel drive and there was an anecdote that referred to a car being test driven on the road because they didn't have the equipment for this scenario. Just gets me a bit paranoid as it was a rough-ish part of town and they probably don't see cars worth more than a few grand.

| that would depend on whether there was a reason to decelerometer test the brakes as opposed to roller brake testing.

I took my sports car down to the local garage for an MOT. I waited in the reception area out of sight of the testing. Anyway, I happened to peer through the window and noticed one of them taking my car for a spin (for what I presume they would have called a "test drive" should I have challenged them). Looking back on it, I've never seen the need to actually drive the car as part of the MOT. Is this right (it passed by the way)?
