The tester of my 1973 Gilbern nearly failed it during its MOT last week because the rear of the driver & passenger seats do not lock in the upright position.  The rake adjustment stops them going back but the mechanism does not prevent them from coming forward.

A straw poll amoungst other Gilbern owners suggest this is how they left the factory.

The question is when did this rule get introduced and does it retrospectively apply?

If the rules are such that a '73 car needs such a feature it means I need new seats!! :(
