The original Q was which side a single fog has to be on, its the Right,

If only the right rear fog lights up during the test, how would you know if the car had a left rear fog lamp? Remember you cant take anythihg off to look?

It helps if you are a Mermaid too I expect.

So VOSA need a re-write ? (beware sn 1,000,000/2008)  one mandatory central or offside rear fog light and any others fitted in correct working order..like seatbelts if they are there they must be in good nick.but a minimum is required....

VOSA come down very hard on NT's inventing their own rules!

Our own standards and preferences don't count.

I'm gonna have to take the lights apart then swap the lenses and th wiring over joy! Damn my stupid ibiza having one fog on one side and one reverse on the other. Prefer the design of two reverse lights looks neater as the lights are symmetrical.

Kev.

What if the front fog lights were the wrong colour?

Or the reverse lamp was not white?

If the n/s/r foglight was showing white light to the rear i would fail it , or remove the bulb.

the way i would see it is that if the light is working it needs to be the correct colour.

did you know...

The N/S/R fog light is NOT considered a testable item.

This means if your N/S fog light lens is broken and showing white light (whilst the O/S works ok) then it is a pass!!

"The inspection of rear fog lamps is confined to the one rear fog lamp which is required to be fitted to the centre or offside of
vehicles first used on or after 1 April 1980."
