Thanks for your replies.

Have just spoken with the test station in question and they will test the car and see whether they have any issues. They are also going to check for issues with the fan etc although they are not a Citroen dealer.

Thanks for your replies.

what would your response be if the vehicle overheated during the mot and caused possibly expensive damage?the car will(typically)be running for about half hour, some of this will be spent at a raised engine speed-will the interior fan cope then?when you sit in traffic you dont normally hold the revs at 3000rpm-.i personally wouldnt test it until rectified.this is in your own interest as well as ours.if they test it after you mention this then i would consider them fools.there is nothing like a radiator full of boiling water in your face to colour your perception of stuff like this.one i had blow up on me got the response from the owner of"why did you leave it running,it boils up after 10 minutes"the owner concerned had been specifically asked if the vehicle was in a fit condition to test, when asked why he hadnt mentioned this he replied that as he had sold the car he didnt want to spend any money or time on it.he was disappointed on both counts...your problem sounds like it could be something as simple as a fanswitch/relay.why not fix it?

Would you confrim whether this would cause my car to fail its MOT, as they may get the engine hot when it sits doing the emissions test. is it worth telling the tester about this in advance?

Thanks

there should be no problems as long as the tester is made aware of the issue & keeps the heater blower switched on .
