Thankyou, well it passed today!!, lambda sat easy at 1.00 !, before the retest i rebuilt any suspect joints in the exhaust, put carb cleaner down the intake, added 2 gallons of fresh unleaded with sytem cleaner then ragged the poor french thing up the m5 at ##mph. which of these cured the problem i didnt know but the gneral view seems to be a leak in the exhaust, so thanks very much.

| Check there is no leaks on exhaust, even small, very close to passing usually caused by slight leak on joints.

Hello, got a customers 92 clio, 1.4 rt petrol. ,all problems cured for mot , only wont pass lambda test, locks out at 1.04 and stays there!, new exhaust rear end, full service, plugs, filters etc and 2 miles to mot station so should be reasonbly warm.
co2 figure is very low , maybe .03 during test. lambda is fairly new and renualt say that they just dont generally fail, help!!!!. would thrashing the car up the motorway with octane booster/fuel cleaner in the tank help? exactly how hot do these have to be?. any help appreciated as i normally restore cars pre 1980 !,so this cat/lambda stuff is all new to me!
