yes, no problem,we used to do the same with hillclimbing 911.bit more basic tho,2 screw on caps on the main chamber.car is tested as presented so if you aint hit the switch first it shud pass

Several cars have this as std equipment.
MGF for example. there is no switch though its done automatically.
Porsche 996 too
So should be no problem.

depends on how presented?
Maybe not an Issue for MOT, Maybe some Track Stewards are playing BB? LOL!
Any modifications that are made, Including Tyre and Wheel changes, Yes, On Forecourt one day and booked in Next Day with different Combination, Can be Manually Advised!
We have to CYA, so that Half an Hour after Your Test, When "Plod" pulls you Up! We are not Questioned about Our Integrity.

haha,
I live pretty close to CC!
I have a crafty trick, in fact, another MOT question...
I have idea to fit a Y section in the exhaust that can be opened up (electric butterfly flap) to bypass the silencers and exit instead via side exit.
So with flick of a swicth inside the car i can be OE spec normal exhaust, or real loud with no restriction.
IS that OK for MOT?

Nope, some tracks do a noise pollution test, but thats about it.
For "run what you brung" drag racing you just show your driving licence, then drive, no helmet needed unless you can hit 100mph or more over the line...(currently my best is 96mph!)

The car wont be used for proper MSA spec racing, Just drag racing and public track days that require MOT standard only,

MSA Regulations, might require you to construct a rear bulkhead, Have a look at The Blue Book.
Not our Issue though.

Although the MOT test is only concerned with the security and leaks, it may be of benefit to you to look into the construction and use regulations just to ensure what you propose to do is not contrary to those reg's

Sounds OK as far as MOT is concerned, Route any breather pipes to the outside though.

Hi Everyone,
My first post here.
Im struggling to find any info on rules regarding retro fitting a new fuel tank.
I am modifying a old Daihatsu Charade Turbo, stripping the interior out, fitting roll cage etc for track days, but the car will still need to be MOT'd and road Legal.
The standard fuel tank and fuel lines under the car looks a little rusty, so im wondering if i can remove it and instead fit a new alloy fuel tank inside the car, obviously it wil be bolted down properly and wil have a proper screw cap with seal.
I also plan on having the new fuel lines running on the inside of the car and then through the bulkhead.
The car is a 3 door hatchback so there is no firewall seperating the tank, i would be mounting the tank between the rear suspension strut towers.
From what i gather, there is nothing to say the above is a problem, as long as its properly secure and leak free.
