Really annoyed today. Order the part through a local motor factors and they delivered the wrong one. The only thing I could ge tin the end was a DPF one but I got one form Euro for £20 more than I planned. Annoying as I wanted the added performance and MPG but can't drive around with it in the way it is. Just need to fit it when it comes now o guaranteed rain for tomorrow.
Also spoke to a guy in Kwik Fit today who I know and he said hat they cn't change the DPF to a decat pipe because if the engne knackeres up they will be liable and have had that problem in the past and had to reaplce an engine. Not sure if he was trying to make me spend more money either!

I have binned the Cat on my Ford and on my Discovery (both Diesels) and both still emit the same smoke as before,ie not much! More grunt and more MPG, sounds better too.
Binning your DPF will bring MPG benefits too.

i binned the cat from my old cavalier td , the difference was obvious from the word go , so much better.

Brilliant. When I spoke to kwik fit earlier they were trying to tell me tat it would fail the mot whihc then made me question it but think they just wanted a bigger chunk of money from me. I have an average of 0.9m at the moment so quite away from the 3m. Will just make sure it got decent diesel in it before the service and had a good clear out!
Many thanks

Speaking to the old man last night he raised the issue that diesels aren't tested on emissions at MOT time, only a smoke test, and that with my engine I could get a straight pipe from a local motor factors and still have a legal exhaust that should pass an MOT providing that the engine is all healthy. It kind of makes sense bearing in my that the earlier 306DTs have exactly the same engine and exhaust system as mine minus the DPF section.
I've spoken this morning via peugeot forums to people who have 'de-cated' their DT 306s and they have said that they have done this to improve performance and create a £200 saving and they have all passed their MOTs.
Apart from the environmental aspect what are your views on this?
Many thanks in advance

there would be no issues at all regarding the mot , as long as the smoke emissions are within limits youll be fine .
the added bonus is a bit more low down grunt .
