I usually recommend to "My Customers" to have their vehicle serviced six months after the MOT Test..Why have two "similar inspections" done on the same day??...(I know thy're not "exactly" the same thing..But 2.0mm tread ain't going to be there in six months, but it will be in an hours time;))...........

So as a "nice friendly chap" I recommend six monthly intervals...(two separate  inspections a year)..........:D

thank you! So, perhaps I should just book in for a full service and MOT? All at the same time?

A service does not include many MOT testable items.

An MOT does not include many service items.

So depending on the milage you've covered since the last service, you probably need both a service and an MOT. MOT repairs are not routinely done on a service, so why not get an MOT done first, then if any item fails the MOT, ask the garage who is doing the service, to repair the MOT failures at the same time.

I've got a Nissan Micra Ally 1.5L 1999. I had a full service done on it last year.

It's MOT is due at the end of this month. I was planning on taking it to a council run testing centre and then getting the repairs done...

But, I am confused as to whether I need to get a full service done. What's the difference between getting the repairs done from a failed MOT test, and getting a full service? Doesn't it all amount to the same thing?

Help!

Thanks :)
