stop panicking guy,its still only a car same as everything else you test, refer to the below answers if u is really worried about brake efforts.concentrate your attention/visibility on basic stuff like wiring fouling/lock to lock/loose/missing bolts/securing devices.most kit car builders/presenters welcome your input be it pass or fail.dont be afraid to ask them if there is something you unsure about.yes it will take longer than say, a focus but treat it as a learning experience as opposed to a monster to be conquered.most kits (with some exceptions)are based on cars that were originally plated for about 1000-1500 kgs.the relevant kits are in most cases lighter+better maintained than the donor vehicles ever were!any grief is generally minor and easily(or politely)rectified.enjoy+learn!

when i go to brake results .

I looked in the testers manual but cant quite under stand what it is saying

If possible, check the brake performance on the Roller Brake Tester. This will give you the individual results for each wheel / axle.

Then perform a decelerometer test to produce the service & park brake efficiencies.

Select 'Combined' as brake test type.

Enter the efficiencies obtained with the decelerometer. Enter other results for judder / binding / imbalance as appropriate.

You also need to check the manual with regard to the emissions test.
I think kit cars, regardless of age, only require a basic emissions test.
(Treat as pre 1972 from memory)?

If three or more wheels lock on the foot brake, and both wheels on the handbrake then it passes regardless of figures.

Enter your figures and tick the boxes as normal, but where it says 'kerb weight' in the box above - change this to 'not required' (or something similar).

It will then pass the brake test without giving an efficiency figure.

Alternatively, if enough wheels don't lock - use the Tapley / Bowmonk meter on a quick road test.
