Our new DGA2500 uses bluetooth technology to measure RPM, the latest Citroen range have fully enclosed battery covers, which have to be removed.
What you goin to do when you get an old Mini with a fibreglass front in then?
Most presenters of "Vehicles with Idiosyncracies" are always willing to assist in removal of any item requested. At the end of the day, All they want is a Pass.

You always have to remove the fuel cap and take out the dipstick(dismantle)..and don't even get me starting on the wheeltrim thing...I personally believe they sould be removed prior to test. Then you can SEE whats holding the wheels on and do a better job on looking at brake disc/pad wear..Could you imagine passing a car with only one nut per wheel present,to hold the wheel on??????well you could have already done this countless times how would you know, more to the point why do VOSA not care??Fail a car for a dangly form the rearview though?????????????????.... from memory theres nothing stopping you removing covers that"are readily accessible/detachable"look at cambelt/emissions requirements for instance.for some reason tho they dont like you removing wheeltrims...

| i did an A2 last year , the vehicle presenter volunteered to remove the bonnet after i told him that we weren't allowed to dismantle anything , what a stupid idea anyway to have a bonnet like that in the first place.

| Tested my 1st Audi A2 today . As we all know , no "dismantling" is permitted during a test . So to gain access to the engine bay , brake fluid reservoir etc , you have to physically remove the bonnet , as it is not hinged . Would love to hear official line from Vosa if possible .
