Yes, I thought on first reading the last special notice that they'd fixed this but sadly it only applies to classes 1 and 2. The missing seal RFR is alright until you get a peugeot or similar with the seal on the filler neck not the cap. Anyone come across the new style renault megane yet with the push in filler cap that has a symbol along the lines of don't stick your fingers in here on it? Theres a floppy rubber seal like a wizards sleeve that is attached to the filler flap cover that I assume is meant to suffice for test purposes. I did try to ask on the refresher course about it but the guy didn't have a clue what I was on about, then again he he tried telling me you could fail the mondeos when the rear centre seatbelt is jammed in the retracted position but then failed to find an acceptable RFR for that as well.

queried them on my last refresher,as the man said push in type no no.screw thread acceptable as it provides a means of giving a positive seal.the fact that its useless apparently isnt our concern

There is a rfr for a missing seal , I treat the temp caps with a "thumb screw" on an individual basis, if they meet the criteria then I pass & advise (temp cap fitted) if they do not then fail.

There are two types of temporary fuel caps, the older push in type, now not acceptable, and the newer type which has a black screw centre, which apparently is ok.
I personally think they are useless as do most of us, so the facility to advise is there.

According to the manual, fuel caps must be secured by a positive means, so how come in the list of advisories they are allowed to be fitted ?
Is everyone out there passing them as well ?
