Yep quite correct RFR. I wasn't questioning you - I just needed it from VOSA officially in case of any comeback.
Cheers

Just had confirmation from VOSA today that Number plate light is NOT repeat NOT part of the MOT test for Class 1 & 2 (Motorcycles). If inoperative or missing Pass and Advise.
Strange but true.

Training was pretty straightforward.
I managed 100% on both tests and have never been a tester before.
Just take your time with the questions but more importantly take notes during the course itself for referral to later.
A useful tip is CBR (Can't Blinkin Remember) for Cross Ply, Belted and Radial tyre fitment law front to back.
Hope this helps.

Interesting
If the police stop a bike thats just been MOT'd without a number plate light and then claim it needs one by law, then what legislation are they refering to ? Is it construction and Use ? What defense has the rider in saying "But it's just passed the MOT ???" any at all?
Personally I think this needs clarifying with VOSA ASAP?
Your Thoughts?

| "If it is not there you cannot fail it, in the manual that is", seriously, Reg plate lamp/s not part of the test (class 1&2), however any issues pass and advise, does not mean though, that by law it is not required!!!!! Hope this helps.

As I'm a relatively new class 2 tester I thought it most strange having studied the Testers Guide myself that no mention is made of a number plate light.
Does anyone else out there who is a more experienced Class 2 tester have any idea on this or do we take is as granted that it is simply not a testable item ???

Hi
Does a motorbike (Class 1 and 2) have to have a number plate light. If so do you know which regulation states it must in the MOT Testers manual?
Thanks
