Unfortunately, the 'stab in the back, look after number one' attitude is not restricted to MOT testers, it's a general sign of the times. Maybe it's caused by the current economical climate, but I suspect it's a bit deeper than that.

On the bright side, when I meet someone genuine for a change, it's all the more appreciated.

Hi johnboy,

yeah hope your right. I've noticed a big change over the years with attitudes of mot testers sadly not for the better. I work in a country area and I'm fortunate most small garages in the area all know one another and tend to respect one another. If we do get a customers car in with a problem that should have been spotted at mot at neighbouring garage the last thing we do is say "appeal go to vosa" we allways urge customer to go back and talk to the garage in a calm sort of manner and try and work out the problem.  So many times I read on bb's like this a member of the public being told straight away to appeal by another tester. Seems nowadays we're all out to stab one another in the back.

Hi Keith,

Welcome to the forum, i take part in 2 other forums (non MOT) besides this one and agree with you 100%, however , given time, it normally all settles down eventually.

It's not possible for everyone to get along, it's human nature, but if any one particular person starts to annoy people on a regular basis, they tend to get bored with the resulting lack of feedback from others, so then starts to inflict their narrow minded, condisending views on the next 'lucky' forum.;)

As you said, it's unfortunate if good people who regularly participate in the forum, while respecting other peoples views, gets put off by the actions of a small minority, but hopefully it will all come out in the wash.:D

Hi fellow testers,

been following this site for a couple of weeks now and was enjoying reading through the posts. That was untill this last week and everythings gone to pot!

It's no surprize to me really for I've been posting on bb's like this for years helping to run a few and I've seen this happen many many times. Sad to see that some of the main posters feel the need to post no more or post less due to a newcomer who clearly likes the sound of his own voice and feels the need to look important.

Anyway thats all I had to say really, sorry for butting my nose in. Keep up the good work.
