Myself and one of my partners worked as testers/technicians in  the business we took over, for 16/14yrs.  Did my DM course in Feb

It is a ltd company. We have same premises, same equipment etc, just a change of directors. But we also were changing the name , Vosa said seamless transfer would occur,  it is taking months, but are allowing us to carry on testing under previous name.

Sent all paperwork to Ammonford(South Wales)then they said more info was needed, sent that-got lost in post during postal strike, sent it again and had to wait 2 months before got call from local Wrexham office who said they were now dealing with it but references had got lost so needed replacements ,sent those 1 month ago and still waiting for authorisation.

 Taking ridiculous amount of time.

David,

I think he will loose any grandfather rights in that case ( If there are any )
If its a Ltd company, Just change directors names and notify VOSA.

Hi Seadweller

In the old days when I was only an NT, the option came about for me to run my own station, the present AE signed a letter to the then DfT requesting that his AE license was transferred to me, what then happened is I completed the AE training course and a new station number and transfer was setup in my name, the station then became under the ownership of myself, but as i said that was in the old days, under the new testing guide there maybe new ideas, you would need to read up on them if any?

Cheers

I am an existing mot station and am retiring, I have someone interested in puchasing my station and they wish to do under a seamless transfer. They have already completed an A.E.

Vosa have informed us that they do not think this is possible because the new owners do not already have a Mot station. Anyone have any relevent information on this.
