Hi Ijames

I don't think I would have modified any part of his vehicle system, but may have looked more at why the suspension bump stop has no clearance with the axle. I suppose I would have looked at the road wheels for fouling any part of the vehicle, and asked about any weight the vehicle is carrying, or the vehicle weight in general.

Taking that no vehicle weight ticket is available advising of the vehicles kerb weight, if the road wheels are not fouling the bodywork, and the interior does not look overloaded, having assessed the suspension system, if I could not prove the suspension to be so weak that the body fouls the road wheels, I probably would have passed and advised it.

I don't think you have a problem with VOSA, any complaint by regulation must be advised in writing at the local office within 14 days of the test being completed, however if the presenter goes to trading standards, then a different story may appear?

If there was no clearance between the Bumpstop and Axle then surely this would mean that the Springs were not strong enough.Cutting the Bumpstops would not solve the underlying problem.

well i m not sure if I am posting in the right part but here goes.Where i work, I MOT a different range of vehicles. As its a atl with a pit we are able to mot large campers which are class 4.well this week we had a complaint against me.8 months ago i moted a large, fairly new camper. After full inspection of the camper the only fault I could find was that there was no clearance between the bump stop and axle on the rear.Which is according to the manual is a fail.I advised the gent that is was a fail and mentioned removing part of the bump stop ,thus giving a pass.I issued a prs and cut out a section for him while he watched after the test.now 8 months later hes complaining about me cutting them:X.please can I have some advice as he threatened to go to vosa, which i dont mind but would like some of your views, thanks
