It seems that the regulations say they should be fitted, but they do not give a date. so by example rear fog lamp must be fitted on or after April 01st 1980. Might be worth calling the National enquiry unit and see what they have to say?

thanks. the information from my local mx5 club is a little bit hit and miss between needing it and it being ok based on the moggy situation.

Only other information I have is a lady with a  1964 morris minor traveller with no side lights and she was told that as long as all the lights that were fitted , worked , there is no prob

thanks for your help. so basically integrate a side light into the main lights?

The wiring would be in the car so it would be a matter of linking that in.

Hi All,

Sorry for the first post being to ask for advice. I have had a look through the forum but not sure what the answer will be on this.

I am looking to buy a modified mx5 that loses the side lights. Its looks like this:

 



It does not have the usual side lights and only the headlights and full beam. Would this be a problem for the MOT? Many thanks for your help.
