With respect to the introduction to the manual which advises of items to refuse to test.
When customers keep leaving their cars full of clothes and rubbish in the foot wells, and their boots full, instead of refusing to test, then having to empty the car before putting everything back, we should be able to put a charge on the test fee for services rendered.
Also each time we have to top up their oil and water, inflate their tyres, we should be paid for it, this is because we at our garage think the customers are doing it deliberately to get their tyres inflated free.
Charge them that should sort um out?

i would make insecure battery a fail , give every testing station a light testing meter & start failing all these cars with the blacked out front side windows .
on cars & vans the minimum tread depth would be 3mm , high beam warning light & instrument cluster illumination would be in there as rfr's.
all driveshaft boots , front or rear , inner or outer & prop shafts would be in the rfr's.
the list goes on

I would add those stupid blue LEds that Da boyz have on their washer jets.
I would add in reversing lamps....safety issue
Front Fogs. ie. If one works they must both work!
I would have a noise test too.... built into the Gas analyser.
Bikes would be exempt from this of course.

I would remove registration plates from the test.
It is supposed to be a safety check after all.

If you were in charge what items would you add to the MOT Test?
Or what would you remove from the test?
