suppose it would level out the playing field a bit , we charge £45 for ours but a local ford dealer has just taken over a garage round the corner from us & started doing them for £20.
can't say it has affected us as we are busy anyway but somebody must be losing out because of it .

This topic has been covered in other posts. But it would be illegal to have a fixed price mot. Hang in there you will get going eventually

As a newcomer I am finding it difficult to build my customer base and lucky to get 3 tests per day, I have seen some articles in the press mentioning the prospect of a minimum MOT fee (say £50), however some think this unfair.
Bearing in mind I could do with every penny I am in favour of the minimum fee because 70 % of my work is trade who only pay £30
What do you think ?
