I thought if it was kite marked then it vat vat exempt?? If you buy a simpson helmet they're not kite or euro marked so you pay vat on them! Had a "disagreement" with local plod as to the legality of my £500 Simspon and they couldn't get the point of the the snell standard that the helmet is made to is higher than the euro standard? Also couldn't understand it was made for racing and racers don't buy crap kit!

Why do test stations cut price anyway, look at the recent oil crisis, tell me one garage that reduced its prices at the pump to gain more customers?
It seems to me that MOT stations go into panic mode when work starts to reduce in quite periods, therefore start ringing round finding out what evrybody else is charging and then cutting the price down, it is really silly to do that, no other type of business cuts off their income and then spends their lifes complaining about it.
What is wrong with you all?

I can name one : The haulage business they invented cutting rates to get the work then complaining about it.

SN 05-2008 now available on VOSA website
http://www.vosa.gov.uk/vosacorp/repository/Special%20Notice%2005-08.pdf
Much easier to print from there rather than using VTS device

B****dy ridiculous paltry increase. Expected it to go up to about £55-£58.
Each test slot is also going to cost us an extra 14p each, wages have gone up, cost of electric etc. has gone up and they want to go to 4-2-2.
Will drive smaller garages out of business.

Well spotted!
It was my mistake. I rushed typing the information & didn't proof-read before hitting the send button.
Class 5 will be £57.65
