Some bosses are unscrupulous, the conversation i got was, keep on testing with them until they have been fixed, i asked how do i know the difference between a vehicle with good brakes, and a vehicle with bad brakes if the rollers are not performing satisfactory, he did'nt have a satisfactory answer, he said are you saying you will not test the vehicles, i said no, i will use the decelerometer, he walked off at this point.
When a tester makes a decision, that tester made it and not the AE, so although the AE would get some points, the responsibility does rest with the NT, there are no excuses, there is a phone line and plenty books to advise, i did the right thing and would not give in to peer pressure.

I did use the decelerometer for two days, the unfortunate thing was, it took them three says to get the parts that were not required, and we lost a full days mot testing because of their "engineers" negligence.
Thanks

Engineers been back to rolling road this afternoon around 16:00Hrs, been without mot testing for two days, engineer fitted a seal kit to the hydraulics, when removing and inspecting the seals I advised that there appeared nothing wrong with them, the engineer agreed, I asked then how did the fault with the rollers occur when the problem was not present before your engineer worked on the rollers, thus loosing us two days mot tests, who is going to compensate for the losses?
Have to wait to see what they say now.

What is a tester supposed to do when the testing facilities fail in service, but are still useable when defective?
AE says carry on testing the vehicles, but NT says no because of equipment failure, boss says are you saying you won't test?
I say I cannot test with defective equipment, VOSA would take disciplinary action against me?
Boss says that a written warning could be issued, a dismissal from employment or other action taken.
Who's right, we are, but who can we turn to when its our responsibility to ensure vehicles are tested to the correct standards?
