Seen a few laguna straps rotted right through too. They are an easy fix as long as the bolts dont snap!!!!!!!!

I've had similar with a Renault Laguna.
Both of the tank securing straps had rusted and broken, leaving the tank sitting on the rear axle beam!

whilst inspecting a 2001 model astra diesel, i could see the fuel tank was rather wet. On closer inspection i found there was nothing holding the tank up!!! actually the handbrake cables were holding it up. Turns out the guy had a split hose in the past and repaired it himself. But must have forgotten to tighten the bolts up.
The most shocking part is i could not find an rfr for fuel tank insecure. But there was "fuel system component insecure" which i used.
i didnt get a chance to take a pic, but im sure you can imagine the picture.
