Boston launches free service reminder software

Boston’s Equipment Manager is an easy to use desktop application that provides inspection and calibration due date and alerts for workshop equipment of any type, or make. This enables workshops to track all equipment in one place, whether it’s MOT testing equipment or any other equipment that is legally required to undergo scheduled calibrations or safety checks such as service lifts, compressors etc.

Designed in-house by Boston’s software department, Equipment Manager is completely free to all MOT and trade premises to keep track of upcoming equipment calibrations and services.

Since the DVSA switched to an on-line web based MOT system, testing stations can no longer enter equipment serial numbers and calibration dates. This tracking function for calibration reminders was therefore lost. Responsibility to record calibration dates for MOT equipment now falls upon the Authorised Examiner, and garages run the risk of penalty points or more serious action if calibrations are not up to date.

Equipment Manager enables workshops to easily track all of their equipment service dates and provides scheduled alerts (on-screen or via email to multiple addresses) of upcoming inspections. Boston’s desktop application is free to all premises; there is no obligation or subscription.
