Unique Testing with Actia Muller’s “The Complete Workshop”
Actia Muller’s “The Complete Workshop” centres around its high performance Class IV/VII ATL bays. The Bilanmatic 8000Mx console is used to control multiple test units which provides fast, reliable testing, and streamlines the garage operation. Moreover, combined testing opens the door to enhanced customer service, and increased sales of parts and labour.
By adding any one of Actia Muller’s innovative array of modular plug and play test equipment, customers benefit from added value testing for a more comprehensive vehicle diagnosis.
For example:
The unique shock absorber tester accurately pinpoints the condition of the vehicle dampers offering the customer reliable information on the safety of his vehicle together with the opportunity to invest in their replacement.
The Side-Slip gauge rapidly displays whether the vehicle has excessive toe in/out problems which dramatically increases tyre wear – easily rectified at minimal customer investment if offered.
The Multi-Diag uniquely offers a Bluetooth one touch solution providing a printed customer report of all OBD data, which may highlight any number of conditions from Air-conditioning to Xenon headlamps.
This vision of “The Complete Workshop” using quality and innovation to minimise equipment requirement and maximise sales potential through enhanced customer service, is essential to move forward in today’s financial climate.

CES (UK) Ltd prepare to celebrate their 25th anniversary
Launched in May, 1984, by Howard Warren and Charles Colton, little has changed at CES in terms of their core mission to ‘never say “no”‘ and provide customers with what they claim to be a “legendary technical sales advice”.
On the other hand, the products that they recommend and distribute have changed significantly.
Gone are the days when emissions meant an exhaust centre section or a rear box. At CES, they may look back briefly over the last 25 years but they are “firmly focused on the opportunities for their future and the future of MOT testing stations”.
On emissions and emission control, CES say they take an ‘Air to Air’ system approach. In other words their UK specialisation covers any component associated with the combustion process – pre treatment, ignition, injection, combustion, and post combustion treatments as well as the ubiquitous exhaust system.
CES has kept ahead of recent developments and are able to offer a large range of EGR valves, turbos, intercoolers, planar lambda sensors and diesel particulate filters. Add into this mix their huge range of type approved cats, and they have all bases covered.
Technical Evenings
To reinforce this product portfolio, CES currently produce a technical bulletin to help customers and MOT stations keep abreast of the latest developments within CES and their respective product ranges. These bulletins are to be rolled out to their local branches in the form of technical open evenings.
Supported by some of their key suppliers, CES will hold four evenings to highlight the current technology in emission control and to promote their training courses and ATA assessment programme.
For more details please log on to www.cesuk.com or ring 01244 372555 to get a copy of their technical bulletin by post or by e-mail.

Company name change –
From Ranger Products UK Ltd To LiftMaster Garage Equipment Ltd
Our American suppliers “BendPak Inc” no longer supply lifts branded as Ranger; lifts have been branded BendPak for a while now!
We have for many years complemented this range of equipment with scissor lifts, single-post lifts and MOT equipment sourced from Europe, and more recently 2-post lifts for smaller spaces and garages with less than perfect floors.
For these reasons and by mutual agreement it has been decided to change our name.
This name change is only a change of name! We are still the same company this will not affect our existing responsibilities, liabilities or warranties. Members of staff remain exactly the same, except we are recruiting additional staff to ensure we give the high level of service our customers and distributors expect.
Liftmaster Garage Equipment Ltd will still be the sole UK distributor for BendPak lifts.

New Sun Shla 24 Headlamp Alignment Unit From Snap-On
Snap-on Diagnostics, brand leaders in diagnostic tools, software and information for the automotive industry, has announced the introduction of its new Sun SHLA 24, a fully adjustable VOSA-approved laser headlamp alignment unit.
The SHLA 24 – which includes a Luxmeter – has a clear and simple-to-read aim screen and incorporates the laser for more accurate longitudinal alignment with the vehicle. The SHLA 24 has a special lens which allows accurate focusing of all current types of headlights, including gas and xenon. There is also an HGV / PSV version.
The SHLA 24 is approved by VOSA for the testing of all vehicle classes with the appropriate set of rails available – at 3.5 metres for cars and light commercials and 5 metres for HGV / PSV versions.
“The SHLA is just one of Snap-on Diagnostics’ VOSA-approved products covered by its calibration and service contracts,” says Sarah Philpott, Acting UK Marketing Manager for Snap-on Diagnostics. “It is a VOSA requirement that all equipment used for mandatory testing of vehicles is covered with an appropriate calibration agreement. Snap-on offers tailored calibration, maintenance and service agreements for all our VOSA-approved equipment using Snap-on employed UKAS accredited engineers.
“We are confident that our new Sun SHLA 24 Headlamp Alignment unit will be very well received by the UK’s MOT Test Centres.”

The Fl Cartar 125, The “First Truly Mobile Lift”
Cartar UK are launching the award winning FL Cartar 125 Mobile Lift into the UK Market.
Based in Australia, Cartar Industries claim to be world leaders in the technology and manufacture of mobile lifts. From experience in their own Body Repair shops they saw the need for a safer system for the movement of damaged cars around the body shop and after 6 years development they launched the unique and innovative FL Cartar 125 Mobile lift to widespread success.
There are many lifts that are portable but once the car is elevated they become a static fixture. The FL Cartar 125 has a 2,200kg capacity and they claim that it is the first truly mobile lift that allows you to elevate a damaged car from ground height and move that car on the lift, safely around the workshop.
Once the damaged car has been delivered by the Tow Truck, it can be placed immediately onto the FL Cartar 125 Mobile Lift. By simply releasing the braking system, the operator can roll the lift under the car, the rubber pads are positioned between the car under-body and lift and then with air line connected, the vehicle is hydraulically lifted.
With the car elevated at the chosen height, the operator can either place the lift back into “Brake Lock” position or move the lift carrying the car to another location in the workshop. Easily manoeuvrable, the damaged car can be wheeled safely on the lift to be dismantled and assessed and then moved to the Panel shop to commence work.
Compatible with Car-O-Liner, once the car is straightened it can then be transported to the paint shop to be sprayed and finally to be reassembled and trimmed. The important aspect is that all this can be achieved safely and with minimum effort onboard the lift, helping to improve workflow and associated productivity.
With today’s strict Health and Safety rules, an added bonus is that the FL Cartar 125 Mobile lift gets the person working on the car off the floor and out from under the car, allowing them to work safely, at a comfortable height but still providing full access to any section of the car, even opening all 4 doors if necessary. www.downgarageequipment.co.uk
