Worn nuts? No problem!
Worn, damaged or rounded-off nuts or bolts can be difficult to remove – resorting to a hammer and chisel or an angle grinder can harm the operator as well as damaging components. Part of Laser Tools’ ever expanding HGV range, these damaged nut or bolt removers (part number 6337) are designed to securely grip and bite into the damaged nut resulting in speedy removal.
The set of six ¾” drive sockets (27mm, 30mm, 32mm, 33mm, 34mm and 36mm) are manufactured from high strength SCM440 grade alloy steel with a HRC45-48 hardness rating to withstand repeated use in tough workshop conditions.
The sockets are surface-finished with manganese phosphate and supplied in a handy case for neat storage in the tool box.
And once it has been removed, how do you get that firmly-wedged nut back out of the socket? Well, a neat touch is that Laser has also supplied a hard chrome plated punch bar to drive the nut out of the socket.
This set is a useful addition to the HGV workshop and available now from your Laser Tools stockist. Typically priced at £129.36 (plus VAT) – but remember to check for the best price and special offers.

“Dramatic improvement on CO emissions, engine performance and driveability” with EDT product
The second generation of EDT Automotive’s multi-award winning engine decontamination machine can reduce emissions by up 69%, helping your customers to sail through their MOTs!
The unit undertakes a unique engineering process which removes all the sludge and debris that can accumulate in the customer’s engine, improving its coefficient of friction and permitting the new oil to perform to its maximum capabilities.
The net result is a dramatic improvement on CO emissions, engine performance and drivability. Cars tested experienced average emission reductions of 69% on CO and 58% on diesel smoke.
Having recently won an International Green Apple Environment Award from The Green Organisation, the award judges commented on the technology: “This company has developed a system which – when used on a vehicle – dramatically reduces the pollutant output from the exhaust.”
Furthermore, an EDT treatment can also improve fuel economy by up to 25%, drastically reducing your customers’ motoring costs.
As the machine is fully automated, once connected it takes less than fifteen minutes to complete a full engine clean, using a bespoke, mineral-based oil.
Talking about his experience with the engine decontamination unit, Anthony Sevis, owner of Dukes Park Automotive Ltd said: ‘’We enjoy great a response and feedback from our customers: as a new business it’s given me the edge in my area, plus the additional business it’s generated just from word of mouth is credit to the results it produces.
“I offer this to everyone and most have it done immediately, adding additional revenue to the job with little effort.”
And it isn’t just EDT’s garage partners who are impressed: the company currently holds a 9.6 out of 10 rating on Trust Pilot, with recent customer Ejaz Moghal commenting: “The engine is a lot quieter. The drive is smooth and more responsive going through the gears and when accelerating. From stationary to go seems quicker as well.
“Overall really happy with the service. Makes sense to have this done when an oil change is due. It’s illogical not to really.”
All equipment is supplied to garages on a pay-per-use basis: EDT will provide the machines, with garages invoiced per usage. This unique business model is supported by proven sales training, designed to help staff generate incremental aftersales profit. All demonstrations are no obligation and will be undertaken at your location, allowing garage owners to fully appreciate the unique technology at work.
Managing Director, David Holmes said: “We constantly get partners calling us to confirm the significant reduction in CO emissions after their customers have failed their MOTs.
“With diesel emissions being such a hot-topic right now, many garages may find it reassuring to know that we have a solution which could help to put their customers’ minds at rest.”

New easy to use and highly sensitive Thermal Imaging Camera also features a UV leak detector
This new hand-held thermal imaging camera from Laser Tools (part number 6515) combines the function of a surface measuring infrared thermometer with real-time thermal imaging.
The device translates thermal energy (heat) into visible light (on screen) to enable analysis of a particular object or area. Instead of just getting a figure for the temperature, you get an on-screen image showing the actual temperature differences of a surface.
This lets you see the heat so you know exactly where to target the measurement spot. Easily find unseen hot and cold spots for instant troubleshooting.
The Laser 6515 provides fast temperature readings without physically touching the object. It can safely measure hot, hazardous, or hard-to-reach surfaces without contaminating or damaging the object. A big feature of the Laser unit is the sensitivity of the thermal imagery — it usefully shows component outlines to aid subsequent identification of problem areas or components.
The Laser 6515 also features a UV leak detector function. For example, detecting leaks in cooling systems and air-conditioning systems when a suitable UV indicator dye is used.
Automotive applications include, inspecting for irregular friction, overheating from mechanical misalignments, binding bearings or brake components, heated seat element malfunctions, checking vehicle heating and air-conditioning systems, engine radiator and thermostat function, exhaust manifolds, injector/cylinder malfunctions, diesel engine glow-plug malfunctions, high resistance in high-current wiring and hot electrical connection issues.
Available now from your Laser Tools stockist at a typical price of £571.50 (+ VAT).
