‘New look’ Automechanika boosts its garage offering

Event to introduce Garage Quarter and tackle issues affecting garage businesses.

Automechanika Birmingham will tackle all the major issues affecting businesses in the automotive aftermarket, with a focus on garages, according to Event Director Simon Albert.

The event, which takes place from 5 to 7 June at Birmingham NEC is geared towards meeting the needs of end users, in particular garage visitors, who will also benefit from the event’s thriving seminar programme with issues such as GDPR and MOT changes set to dominate.

Housing a new layout and with over 500 exhibitors for 2018, 85% of 2017 visitors are intending to return to the exhibition, with this year’s event already shaping up to be another success.

Automechanika Birmingham NEC Floor PlanThis year, the show will have a dedicated “Garage Quarter” for the growing number of technicians and garage business owners attending the event, featuring suppliers of tools and workshop equipment, services and innovative products as well as a Garage Social area. Also new for 2018 will be extended opening hours, a facilitated meetings programme to allow visitors to pre-arrange meetings with exhibitors, and much more.

There will also be an enhanced programme of live events featuring live technical demonstrations, free training and keynote speakers.

Simon Albert, Event Director of Automechanika Birmingham, said: “With changes affecting the running of garages due to come into place just weeks before the event, Automechanika Birmingham is perfectly positioned to provide much needed clarity on issues affecting the trade.”

Garage visitors will also benefit from limited free parking at the NEC and free breakfast upon arrival, on a first come first served basis.

Garage of the Year

Alongside the highly successful Garage of the Year award, set to make appearances again will be live technical demonstrations and training, as well as further invaluable networking opportunities between exhibitors and senior professionals from the aftermarket and vehicle production sector.

This year’s event will welcome vehicle production exhibitors in Hall 6, aftermarket suppliers in Hall 20 and the Garage Quarter in Hall 19.
